Kanha National Park – One of India's most renowned wildlife sanctuaries, Kanha National Park is famous for its rich biodiversity and being the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. Optional : Early morning go for Morning Jungle Safari. A trip to Kanha Tiger reserve directly takes you to the widespread arena of the lush habitat of wild creatures. Filled with large varieties of fauna out of which the jungle is best known for ‘Barasingha’ - the swamp deer and is famously called ‘the jewel of Kanha. In afternoon, either go for afternoon Jungle safari or enjoy adventurous activities like Nature walk, visit to nearby village or simply indulge in various activities that your hotel /resort has to offer (subject to availability and may be chargeable) or take the rest of the day at leisure. The best time to visit is October to June. The winter months (November to February) offer pleasant weather, while March to June is ideal for tiger spotting as animals gather near water sources. The park remains closed during the monsoon (July to mid-October).
Jungle safaris can be booked online through the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department’s official website or at the park’s entry gates. Advance booking is recommended, especially for peak seasons. Safari slots include morning and afternoon rides, and both are great for wildlife sightings.
Kanha is famous for its Royal Bengal Tigers, Barasingha (Swamp Deer), Leopards, Sloth Bears, Wild Dogs (Dholes), and a variety of birds and reptiles. The park’s rich biodiversity makes it a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts.
